This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight


Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon
and tonight. A few strong to severe storms are possible with the
primary hazards being gusty winds, heavy rainfall and lightning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday


The best chance for strong to severe storms is Tuesday through
Wednesday night. Otherwise heavy rain and lightning will be more
common hazards with near daily storm chances.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed Tuesday and Wednesday.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN...Until late Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Unleveed islands near Chester and the
prison farm floods.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 29.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is forecast to be near 29.1 feet Tuesday
morning.
- Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in

Illinois...Missouri...

Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Jackson, Scott,
Alexander, Union, Perry and Cape Girardeau Counties.

.River levels are falling along the Mississippi River at Cape
Girardeau and are expected to fall below flood stage by Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

River backs into several creeks producing flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 33.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Thursday morning and continue falling to 26.4 feet Wednesday,
May 15.
- Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
